Grieghallen aka Grieg Hall, named after the Edvard Hagerup Grieg the 1843, Bergen born composer and pianist. It has a concert hall that can seat 1500 people. Bergen’s Philharmonic Orchestra calls this building home since completion in 1978.
The Brutalist style of the building was the result of two companies combined effort (Ratio and Origo Architects AS). Some people like it some people don’t. I personally like it a lot. I think it will stand up to the test of time. It also suits Bergen and the “unique” weather we have here. It has character. It is elegant, inside and out.

I’m still trying to catch up with myself and my exponentially growing amount of unpublished photo and video footage. Oh, that reminds me, off topic rant coming up in 3,2,1… if you ever feel like you’re bored or have way too much free time on your hand, try to produce a polished UHD (3840×2160) video footage. For the rest of us mortals, full HD (1920×1080) will do. #notetoself
Also, I’ve made the photos above available as downloadable 2560 x 1440 wallpapers. Click this text to download them. Use 7z to unzip.
Hope you like them.
Cheers!
